I agree with Razzle. If your car had an MOT and was roadworthy you can't replace it for the money they are offering you. When my car was stolen I was offered a ridiculous amount and asked them to actually replace my car with one of the same year and mileage (it had low mileage), not the money, they suddenly decided to increase their offer by 100%. Don't accept their first offer! Good luck

yes...if you can find a few of the same cars for sale for more money then send them the adverts and tell them to replace your car with the same will cost that much.

Probably not, they are really annoying, my brother paid Â£7200 for a car 14 months ago it was written off in a non fault accident and they offered him Â£4800 on numerous complaints a solicitor advised this was all they could offer as it is the "book" value and they wouldn't go above it???? Joke I know, so if you had anything else in the car expensive ie (Rolex watch- joke!!) claim for it to try and up your claim value.

Only if you can find evidence that a 14 year old Ford Fiesta in similar mileage/ condition is worth more than Â£200.00.

I would have a look at advertisments for cars locally and see what prices are being asked for. If you can find evidence that the price is more than Â£200 you can go back to the insurance company and ask them for an increased offer.

In either case the Â£100 excess will apply. You should also consider whether your insurance premiums over the next few years will increase in total by more than Â£100 - as your no claims bonus will be reduced (unless you have a protected bonus).

Yes, you can accept that as settlement, or reject it. If you reject it they may offer more, or they may withdraw the offer completely and put the ball back in your court.
