happen if I cancel the insurance, something happens to the car, then I put insurance back on..how will they know the damage occured before I had insurance? Im just thinking in general, not planning on doing this.

Before you insured you car, a surveyor will be appointed to survey your car, they will know whether you car had an accident.
Also if you are not insured and something happens, you will have to pay cost of repairs |

They wont know right off hand, but will do a thorough investigation on it. If the car is in a storage building and the building has cameras they will likely get videos from several locations and try and figure out what was actually damaged and what was not. If the insurance company catches you in a lie then your claim will go to a fraud unit and you will be arressted and fined harshly. If you have liability only, then the car wont be covered at all, unless someone or something damages your car and has insurance.. Full coverage takes care of it all. |

Insurance fraud and it's a huge no no and will cost you alot more than the money to fix the car. I've had cars in a storage unit with no insurance and nothing ever happened... but if it does and you commit insurance fraud and they find out... watch out! |

I wouldn't cancel the insurance ever! What if there is a fire or the storage unit leaks and there is water damage, or if your like me and live in Louisiana, then flooding. |
