My driver, Michelle, has now had 3 incidents?
Find answers to your legal question.

My driver, Michelle, has now had 3 incidents?

She has been my driver for 2 months and is 28 yrs old. These are the incidents:
1. She said the tree suddenly appeared from nowhere.
2. The car turned the wrong way at the road junction.
3. The man she knocked over said it was his fault as he'd been knocked over before.
Thankfully, no-one was hurt but I've obviously had to pay for the damage.
What can I do? - Perhaps some kind of punishment or any other suggestions?

Don't be too hard on her, Scoundrel. You know how daffy we birds can be when it comes to driving. I once pranged my Porsche when I was forced to swerve to avoid a fir tree that suddenly loomed up in my field of vision. Turned out to be the in-car air freshener.
Tee hee!

Aha, the penny's finally dropped, my dear Scoundrel! You must forgive an old lady - I can be surprisingly slow on the uptake sometimes.
Your Michelle is clearly not the temp I referred to whilst answering one of your previous posts. I do apologise. Furthermore I fancy you're more than a little partial to this particular filly - hence your rather selfish refusal to let me borrow her!
Now then, re the driving thing; since Michelle's obviously easier on the eye than the steering wheel I suggest you purchase Rotter's man Jenkins to do the driving - yes, he's ancient and half blind but still a safer bet than young M. Then you can relax in the back seat of the car with the young lady by your side. Punishments? I don't think you need any advice on that, dear boy!

This is what happens when you entrust a female with something so dangerous as a motorcar.

If you would just stay in the rear seat and keep your hands to yourself, these little "bumps" in the road will significantly decrease...

Actually old chap there were 4 incidents, the last one was when she was over at Smythe Hall a few weeks ago, you may have a very junior footman in about 8 months, damned good she was too.

Buy her a new car to drive, the present one is obviously very badly behaved. Probably is not potty trained either - the car that is.

Put her in the passenger seat and "crash into a tree" see how she likes it, then get a different driver :)

Did you have a safe driver policy with her when you hired her? Tell her if she has like a certain small number more, then, maybe you have to look for a different driver.

Accidents do happen, especially if your drivers are doing a lot of miles. It's all about assessing the risks involved with each driver. 3 accidents in 2 months, in my opinion, is not good enough.

Did you have a driver assessment in place for your application process? If not I suggest you implement one asap.

If she was one of my drivers I would of warned her after the first incident, By the third incident I would of terminated her employment.
I would suggest a final warning for her, and definitely more training.
As I said, 3 incidents in 2 months is really not good enough, and does not give a positive company image.

Also, something to think about in the future would be further driver development at regular intervals, 6 - 12 months? Their are a few companies you'll find on the Internet provide this kind of service. This has the added benefit of (depending on insurance company) reducing insurance premiums.

so the credit crunch hasn't effected you by having a dodgy driver that you can still employ her and pay for the damages on a daily rate,i'm surprised she's got a driving license

For a win-win situation, you may require her to take and pass a defensive driving course in order to continue working for you before she kills herself and/or someone else.

Your question sounds very similar to Jasper Carrot and his stand up joke about insurance accident claim forms. Why don' t you drive her? As a driving instructor I would prefer female learners before the blokes.

Just get a man, with more experience! You need a chauffeur not a driver! I have a chauffeur and am not stressed being driven around by somebody who is professional, not a dodgem car, fairground driver!!!
