the other driver wasnt insured and shes only 3rd party insured. the police were called cos he wouldnt admit liability and hes got away with it the police arnt even going to prosicute him for not being insured. WHY ?????

Its disgusting, but its true. You have to have uninsured, underinsured insurance these days. If she doesn't have it she might be out of a car. It just isn't worth it these days to not have liability and underinsured insurance for those bozos out there. |

Go and give the fuzz a good push and if they still won't do anything about it you have the choice of lumping it or instituting a private procecution which could be expensive especially if you lose. |

Get a good solicitor and:- 1. Complain to the Police complaints commission. AND:- 2 Take out a private prosecution. |

It depends on where this happened, In the USA, in Wisconsin, (Unfortunately) there is no law that says you must have insurance. The only requirement is that if you are in an accident, you must prove financial liability ( your ability to pay if you are found legally at fault) Problem is, usually if one doesn't have insurance, they don't have 2 nickles to rub together either so even if they are found at fault the victim never receives a cent |

That is kinda stupid my mate got pulled over for driving without insurance n he got fined £500 n gt banned. u shud take it 2 court, n if she only gt 3rd party insurance den ur kinda messedcause u cant du anything about ur own car really, shuda gone 4 fully comp |

Assuming that your friend was given the details of the other driver by the police then she will be able to make a claim from the motor insurance bureau for the damage that has been caused. - Subject to quite a large excess.
