Your insurance will basically run the car through blue book and give you that much. Accept as much as they give you. I've totalled a car and I was the only one involved (I hit a deer), and AAA gave me a pretty good sized amount. I was expecting them to give me almost nothing.
Anyways, sorry about your accident!! Sounds like it was no fun. Black ice is scary. |

Use Kelly Blue Book and NADA, run the car as fair to good and average the 2 numbers. That should be about what you will get for your total, unless you have a loan on the car with gap insurance (if you are upside down which most people are that buy a new car), if so they will pay off the total loan amount. |

The good thing is you survived...
You may actually get more than you expect from the insurance
company. If it is well below what you expected, you may be
able to submit paperwork for upgrades and anything above and
beyond it's book value. For example, just had a new paint job.
etc....
I've seen this done with older classic cars, but quite honestly
don't know if you can use it with your particular vehicle.

I don't think you get to "accept" an offer from the insurance company. Generally, they'll give you the Kelley Blue Book value on the car, and that's their final offer. |
