Ok so back in April of 2008 I was driving and was pulled over randomlyin Orange County. My friend was drunk but of age and I was driving but not drunk. Long story short, the cops lets me off with just an underage drinking citation (not a DUI), which meant I would have to pay $500 to the courts and have my license suspended for a year.
Well in November of 2008, I was involved in an accident while my license was suspended in the city of Northridge (LA County). All the information has been put into the insurance company and I assume the person has had his car fixed by now. I did not send a accident form into the dmv.
I have receive a call from the insurance company, in fact, they spoke with my mother and just said my premium would go up but nothing about my license being suspended. I am now thinking about just waiting it out until April to see if I can get my license back then and if something arises, I will have my license.

Amazing really. Why would your insurance pay if you had no license? They were under no obligation to pay. You now have an illegal driving charge waiting on you as well as fraud for letting your insurance pay for a wreck that happened while you had no license. Tsk, tsk. Every knock at the door will haunt you, as you will wonder if it the police come to arrest you. Every time you see a police car go down your street, you will wonder if they are coming for you? Talk to your parents and see if you can make this right before it blows up in your face. Good luck. |

The insurance carrier must report the accident to the DMV. The DMV will become aware that you did not file an accident report for an accident causing property damage, and that your license was suspended at the time. They will either extend the length of your suspension or outright revoke your license.
Your next problem is if the insurance carrier realizes that you were driving while suspended. They will probably cancel your policy and may sue you to recover any money's they paid for this accident because yu committed fraud.
You're in BIG trouble. It's only a matter of time before it all catches up with you. Don't expect anyone to feel sorry for you. |

Depends if the latest accident had the police involved (taking a report of the accident). From the sounds of it no police were involved. If that is the case your license will not be affected. |
