Contact the cab company and request to talk to the manager on duty. He should be able to give you the full identification of his insurance carrier, the policy number or reference number and hopefully also the name and telephone number of the adjuster who will be handling your mother's claim. If your mother drivers, I would also suggest she contact her own automobile insurance company. She could have her own carrier repair or settle the damages to her vehicle (if she has collision coverage). They also could pay her medical bills (again, if she has medical coverage). Even if the taxi is deemed at fault for the loss, their carrier will not pay your mother's medical bills as they come in. They would make one flat settlement based on their investigation and review of records. If the taxi company drags their feet and does not seem to want to give their insurance company information out contact the police department who came to the scene and made a report and ask to speak to the taxi division. They can get that information for you. Hope your mother feels better soon. |

Was your mother unable to get the insurance information at the scene of the accident? Normally, that it what happens if both parties are conscious. I think the accident report that the police do might have the insurance info on it, at least they should have the taxi cab driver's phone number and address to contact him/her. |

Well at least in minnesota when there is a major accident a police report is required you could get a copy of the police report. You could lso call the cab company and get the information. |
