Contact the police and tell them what happened and give them the license plate number. What the guy did was illegal. Hit and run and leaving the scene of an accident. They can match up the paint on your car with the paint on his car and know it was him. Good luck, but don't delay any longer. Go do it. |

Call your local police department and they will either send an officer out to file a report of the accident or they will file one on the phone. Be sure to get the incident reoprt claim number as you will need this for insurance purposes. Call your insurance company first thing in the morning and report the incident. Your insurance should cover your vehicle and they will take care of making him pay for the damages. Your insurance company is there to deal with the other parties involved when an accident happens so that you do not have to hassle with it.The person who hit you can face criminal charges of leaving the scene of an accident, hit and run and if you are hurt he can be charged with failure to stop and render aid which is a felony and can carry a sentence of up to 5 years in a correctional facility (prison). This can be a serious charge in any instance. Good luck and be sure to file a report with the authorities and your insurance company ASAP. |

Contact police and file a report. They will obtain his details. Also tell your insurer if there is damage. If no damage, forget the matter! |

You got his license plate. That's good. You can go to the cops and report a hit and run and they can find him by looking up his license plate. If there is any damage to your car, then the cops will get his info and stuff and make him pay to fix your car.
Good luck ^_^ |

I'd call the police. That way you will have an accident report to file with his insurance.
Technically he hit your car and he is responsible for any damage that occured to your vehicle.
also i would post a question in legal advice (i think there is one like that here), that way you can get a lawyers point of view on the matter...
Good luck |

He failed to exchange details after an accident, he is liable, now phone the police and report him and say he drove off, tell them you were nervous. They will go to his address and probably arrest him or serve him with a producer at the station to show his insurance and registration, either way youll be covered. |

thats called a hit and run. call the cops right now and make a report. don't wait too much longer. the cops need to find him and examine his car to make sure that he really hit you. |

Try to report it to a police station as soon as possible. It would have been better to do it then, but if you can accurately describe the situation and there is any noticeable damage, they'll believe you. |

Call the police...not 911, but just the regular number..it should be in the government section of your phone book. It was an accident, and should be reported for insurance purposes. Plus that way the guy will have to pay up. |
