Nope, the only agency who can take his lic is ethier the state of issue or a judge. If they try to make you tell them to show you the law that gives them the right, not the policy of the company but the law. If they continue get with your states insurance board to complain. A business cannot supersede a state law. |

They are suggesting he surrenders it, not requiring it. If you are trying to get him off of your policy while he's away at college, then it makes sense that they want proof that he won't be driving via surrendering his license or showing he has permanently moved before they agree to remove him. It is just strict underwriting, but they probably won't remove him unless you prove he won't be driving your vehicles. |

No, they can't do that. Are you sure you understood them right? It would not make sense for him to surrender his license when there's a chance he may need to drive when he comes home, or even if he were out with friends and needed to drive someone home due to them being too drunk to do so. He needs to have a license for those instances, and the insurance company has no right to request he give it up. They cannot exercise control over that. Was this an agent who told you this? That wouldn't surprise me; agents give out a lot of misinformation. |

they may be sugesting to surender it, if hes living with you they may think he will drive yours and they are trying to save you money. no insureance has any juristiction over that. |
