Last August I bought a 04' Toyota Tundra from an auto auction, I went with a dealer. It was a great deal, I paid all the tax and license fees at the dealers office only to find out months later that he didn't give all the paperwork to the DMV! He had closed shop and was selling without a license, I got a few extensions and filled out an investigation form. Today I went and the DMV and they won't give me any more extensions and the investigator didn't find the guy ( at least he didn't call me) So now I'm stuck with expired tags, an extension that ends in two days and no idea what to do. HELP!

Lesson Learned , If you went to an auto auction and you paid for everything , why is he holding the paperwork ? You will never get it registered , until you get the title. Find that guy !! |

Place a lien for storage on the vehicle through the DMV. That will get you the title |

that will teach you to buy from somebody that has all the stuff/you are not the first with these horror stories/like as not he probably did not pay the auction for the vehicle and they never gave title out/ go to auction and see what can be done. he took the money and ran.he may have never been a licensed dlr and borrowed the dlr id/see the manager at the aution /not on auction day |
