Im 16 and i get my drivers liscence wednesday, but i dont have a car yet to take to school and i cant take my parents truck cuz they need it during the day. Our infinity's tags have been expired since I was 12, in 2006 and I was wondering how much it would be to renew them,,
my mom said around $600, is that right?
P.S. I am a california resident, i think some states charge differently

The way that works here in California is that you will have to pay all the past due fees, plus penalties and interest. I can't give you a dollar amount, but it won't be cheap.
A quick estimate is to look on the registration card. Add all the fees paid in 2006, double that amount, then multiply times 4 years. |

After 3 years the plates and the Infinity are probably now in what Is called "Archives" So, you would need the title for one thing. You & the DMV would treat It as a "New Transaction" One question though:
Is the car STILL going to remain in the same name? If so, find out what the normal renewal was. Is the registration period for 1 year or 2?
An Infinity should be about 3200 Lbs. Then the reg. without tax would be about 65.00 per year. Any judgments against the old plates? Like Insurance lapses? This Might cause the fee to go up to $600.00. So, you see there are many factors that no one other then your family knows about that would effect the fee. |
