You can try, but, unless you can prove some kind of negligence that caused the icicle, it is tough. Winter comes every year, and icicles are part of Mother Nature's plan. |

If it's a nice vehicle and you carry full coverage insurance or at least comp (comprehensive) and if the estimate of repair is greater than your comp deductibile then you might consider turning it in on your insurance however be aware that your rates may go up due to the claim. Insurance companies won't allow you to get ahead of them. |

Doubt it. However, the owner of the builing has to take 'reasonable care' to avoid others being injured. Your own insurance might claim for you. |

Yes actually they are liable. A building owner is required to remedy all situations on their building which can cause injury to the visitors of the property as well as passers by. The hard way to go about this is to try and contact the owner of the building, threaten them with a lawsuit, blah blah blah. The easy way to go about this is to file a claim under your Comprehensive coverage since this is damage by a falling object and let your insurer go after the building owner. Of course if you have no Comprehensive coverage then your only way is the hard way. |
