Not technically, but if she then made a claim for the accident, it would be fraud because she didn't have the policy when the accident happened. |

yes, if she got it and failed to disclose this information, then later tried to file a claim on it.
But there's no crime in simply getting car insurance a week later.
Insurers insure against future risks, not present or past risks/accidents. |

It could be interpreted that way. Hopefully she didn't lie to the insurance company about her situation. What about the other vehicle involved? |

Unless she told the agent that the car was damaged in a crash, then yes, it would be fraud. But then again, they will know by police reports that the car was indeed crashed on a certain date, and the car recieved insurance on a later date, and, etc. etc. They will most likely ask, hey, whats the deal? |
