Need legal help regarding a car accident with an uninsured motorist in tx.?

I was involved in a car accident where they hit me from behind and my entire rear body was damaged. I found out through the police report that the driver of the car wasn't the owner and she didn't have a vaild driver's license and auto insurance. I am trying to see if she would like to settle something outside of court, but my question is can the owner of the vehicle she was driving be held responsible as well? Please help me this would help answer alot of my questions. Thanks!

You need to turn this claim into your insurance company. Auto insurance follows the car,not the driver. The owner may have insurance and the driver that hit you was a permissive driver that would be covered under the owners policy. But for your safety, let your insurance company handle it. Absurd as it may sound, the other cars owner file suit against you for damage to the car , loss of wages and any thing else a crooked attorney can come up with. It's been done before.r |

Just contact your own insurance agent with any questions you might have. Insurance coverage is on cars, not on drivers, so if the unlicensed driver was driving with the owners permission, insurance covered her.
Even if the driver did have insurance, it wouldn't cover a borrowed car, the owners policy is covering. |

The owner of the vehicle is responsible for any damages caused by an unlicensed driver operating the car. Go after the owner for your damages. |
