Your insurance company will be the one paying for his injuries. Usually on a policy there is a certain amount up to which they will pay. Trust me...I've totalled three cars thus far in my life (hopefullly no more) and it is very possible that injuries showed up later...been there done that...not only that but the true soreness alone resulting from an accident is worst at day 2 following.

You can do nothing. You crashed into him, it's your fault, you were driving too close, if you weren't so close you could have stopped.
Your insurance company will compensate him for his injury, that's why you have insurance, and your premium will increase.

You have 3 years from the accident in which to claim for personal injury.

The thing is an injury can occur at the time of the accident but you think you are fine. I think you have to be checked out within a certain amount of time so you might like to find out if that's correct and he's announced his injury within the set timescale. Unfortunately as you went into the back of him the accident will go down as your fault - unless there were very clear indications and witnesses to say otherwise. You need to speak this over with your insurance company - do it sooner rather than later to put your mind at rest. Good luck.

There's nothing you can do if there's no suspicion of fraud. (And I'm assuming that this did not happen in Brooklyn, and there were not three other people pulling up in another car and then claiming to have been in the vehicle with him.)
Soft-tissue injury cannot truly be proven by any medical technology, and can indeed only be noticed after the shock.

You can do nothing it is up to your insurance now. You carry insurance to handle the expenses from an accident such as this. Do not follow so close next time. It is the most common mistake on the road. These type of accident also will make your insurance rates go up. They may say it won't, but it will keep you from getting an accident free discount.

Don't worry about it. That's what you pay insurance for, leave it to them. Give them the facts of what happened and what was said and let them work it out.

effects of whiplash can sometimes not come on until some hours after the incident. Any other injury should be supported by a medical certificate.

This is what we all buy insurance for!

Firstly, to cover a point no one has mentioned yet, you CANNOT cancel this insurance policy. If you are paying for it monthly, you will have to keep paying. The reason is, is because someone is making a claim on that policy and therefore you are "using" the product you have bought from the insurance company.

A lot of people think that just because their car is written off or THEY aren't making a claim they can cancel their insurance and get a refund or stop paying. You can't.

Secondly, a lot of people don't realise they are injured until later on. The shock of the accident pumps adrenaline throughout the body which may mask any muscle injuries he/she may have suffered.

It's very common for people to walk away from an accident feeling fine, then have terrible back/neck pain the next day.

Finally, don't worry about having to pay anything, you won't. That's what the insurance cover is for, that's why you pay for it.

1. Leave it to the insurance to sort it out just answer the facts
2. Injury can occur the day after not always necessary straight away
3. Let this be a lesson, many of us do it - keep a safe distance from the car in front in the future and always be alert.

he maybe able to claim and your insurance would cover this, however your insurance company will require some form of medical evidence such as a doctors report

He may just went to a local doctor . Most likely he has
whiplash, where your neck starts hurting after a crash.
Your insurance will pay his doc bills for this if he files it.

Nothing. He is probably claiming "whiplash". The insurance company doesn't pay him that easily. With all the high back chairs in all the cars, the chances of him having whiplash is low......but because you rear-ended him - - you are automatically at fault for following too close.
