Ok... im 15 (turning 16 in April) and i cant wait for the day of getting my permit. I have a couple of questions... and remember i live in New Jersey
1. Can i just go to the dmc a say i wanna take the permit test?
2. is this gunna cost money? how much?
3. do i need to take any classes? Where?
5. why are ppl tellin me i gotta pay $3,000

You cannot get your permit in NJ until you turn 16 1/2 and that is ONLY if you take a NJ state approved behind the wheel training class with drivers ed. If you cannot do this or if your school does not offer it, you have to wait until you are 17 to get your permit. You have to pass the written test before you get your permit. |

I seriously doubt that Driver's Ed is going to cost $3000 in NJ, but then again, we are talking about NJ.
Are you in public school? Does your school offer Driver's Ed? If so, you may be able to take it in school & pay little or nothing for the course.
NJ offers online DE courses. You can go here, http://www.dmv.org/nj-new-jersey/drivers-ed.php for a list of online courses.
Below is an Adobe .PDF file (6 pages) that lists all approved agencies in the state of NJ that you can enroll in for your training. It lists their address & phone number, so you can call them & locate one in or near where you live & then just ask them what the cost will be.

the 3000 is for driving school. you don't have to take driving school. go to the dmv get the study book and take it home and study it. in a few days go back and test for your learners permit. pass the test and pay a few bucks should be under 20 bucks |
