No claims bonus on two seperate policies, any insurance people about?

My dad has 3 years no claims on his current policy, now I have just passed my driving test and he wants to add me as a named driver on a SEPARATE CAR and SEPARATE POLICY. Now if he states he has 3 years no claims on the second policy, and I have an accident or loss, will it affect the no claims on his first policy? I need to get the car insured ASAP but we are unsure as to what to do, as we cant protect his no claims because it is less than 4 years.
Advice appreciated
Thanks

I am unsure as to what you mean, to "front" for me, where is the scam? I will be insured to drive the car, so how will I get into trouble by driving it? Why else would you have named drivers if they cant drive it? And the insurance company asked if I wil be an occasional user or frequent and he said frequent so I dont understand the problem!?

The policy must be in the name of the principal or main user. If dad is claiming he is that principal or main user and in fact you are, that is "fronting". It's a fraudulent and well-known attempt to obtain a lower premium. It's actually a civil matter, rather than criminal, as dad has made a false application, which is part of his contract with the insurers. If you're found out the insurers will drop him a like a hot potato and his record will be blighted in the insurance industry. Sorry for the pun. Please, for dad's sake, don't let him do this.

Oh, and the NCB only applies to one policy at a time.

The NCB can only be applied to one policy. If your dad were to take out another policy to cover your car it will have no NCB unless he is able to negotiate an introductory NCB

Gambit
What he means by "front" is that your dad lists himself as principal operator on the second vehicle and you as an occasional operator when in actual fact you are the principal operator. He is doing this because of your age or driving record you would generate a higher premium. He would be doing this or else why wouldn't he just add the second vehicle to his existing policy? If this is what he's doing then the both of you are opening yourself up to having any future claim on that vehicle being denied.
