OK there are these 2 tucks for sale and the guy says he has no papers for them. Im not stupid and go buy them and have him report them stolen and me get screwed but I was wonderin cant he go get another pink slip for the truck? isnt that the only paper u need?

Have him go file for lost titles for both trucks. If you want to put them both on the road, even if you bought them and got a bill of sale you would still need to file for the titles..Unless you are just getting them for parts, and are not planning on putting them on the road, then a bill of sale would probably be good enough. |

Usually you can request a registration in the state you live in for the vehicles by contacting the state DMV. |

If you want to get these trucks in your name, he will have to file for a lost title. If he is not able to do this, make him give you a "bill-of-sale" |

If he is the only registered and legal owner of these trucks, he can apply for a duplicate title for each truck. He should have done this prior to putting up for sale. Do not purchase either truck, until you see those titles. At the very least, I would do a VIN check, through your local DMV, it will just take a few moments of your time, and could save your many hundreds or thousands of dollars. A truck/car without a clear title is worthless. If the trucks are ten years old or less, odometer disclosure forms must be completed also. |
