Or convert grocery stores to drive through only?
Your question is illogical, because it assumes that one ignores that a vehicle is not just a location, but a mode of transportation.
If you're sitting in your car, and get hit by another car, sure, you'll survive better.
But: If you're driving along, and hit a tree, you'll die faster than if you had just walked into it. Which makes the car less safe.
So it's pointless to try to compare.
Also, ask yourself this...this accident you were in....if it wasn't for your car, would you have even been at that location during that time? Probably not. |

If it weren't for cars how would you travel?
A couple of statistics that might surprise you. A century or two ago most people never traveled more than ten miles from the place where they were born. When they did travel it was by horseback or horse drawn carriage. Accident statistics for horses are horrendous. A fatality for every few thousand miles rather than the hundreds of thousands of miles from automobiles. Horses got spooked threw their riders or simply bolted and the passenger/rider could do nothing but hang on for dear life. And talk about pollution... have you spent much time around a stable?
So my question to you is considering only the risks associated with transportation, what do you prefer, cars or no cars? |
