pulling out of the parking lot. She completely over exaggerated. It made a dent of about 1/4 of an inch, which was truly barely noticeable. Anyway, Im only 21 and I've had this car for less than 30 days. I boyfriend says the dent should be about $80-$200 to fix. It it goes through my insurance (in which i am fully covered) how much would it go up...just enought to cover the cost of the dent...or enough to scare me straight until Im 25????

Talk to her and try to pay for it CASH!!! then it wont make your insurance go up, because face it your insurance will and up costing you more than fixing the dent would. Hope everything works out for you! |

Before you decide anything, have the lady get and estimate. Your boyfriend's estimate might be low. I don't know many body shops that will let you out for $80. If your insurance goes up, it will go up for at least three years. It's hard to say how much; it depends on your coverage and your particular company. |

Try to take care of it with her in cash,but if she says any then about injures let your insurance take care of it. you always have to look out for the scam. DON"T be upset it happens ,to all of us. |

Yep, sorry to say, insurance claims don't matter much the claim is, just the fact that there was a claim will raise you insurance.
You can usually sign up for a driving course to show the insurance company your being proactive about your driving habits, and they might be nicer to you. But talk to them first before signing up or you might waste your money, as far as an insurance $$ saver. My opinion is everyone can always learn ways to be a better driver, it might save your life one day. |

You can offer to pay for her damages if the other driver is ok with that so you don't have to file a claim. You do owe for a rental car also while the car is in the shop. |

It should not go up to much depending on what company you have and all of that. The best thing to do would be to contact some at you insurance company and ask because they should know. |

it shouldn't go up that much if the dent was small, easy and inexpensive to fix. sounds like that woman really freaked out over nothin....1/4 of an inch???? i feel bad for you not her.....haha...best of luck to you!!! |

Be afraid...be very afraid... And give me the name of the body shop your bf knows that can do ANY kind of body work for that price. I don't believe it exists. |

It will probably cost more like $400 to fix it, since if it is in a door panel or some other panel the entire panel will have to be repainted. Pay for it out of your own pocket and don't even bother the insurance because that will end up costing you more. |
