Old woman hit me an left?

I had just pulled into the Macy's parking lot and parked! When I go to unbuckle my seat beat I hear a boom and my car rocks! I blow my horn and this old woman acts like she did not hear it and slowly takes off. I zoom to get her plates and I called the police to make a report. I called my insurance and they told me I have to pay my deductable in order for them to fix my car. I am not understanding why I have to pay and what happens to her?
I have her address that the police gave but why did they give it to me?
Am I suppose to go curse her to hell or send her a death threat?
Please help because I am confused

That's how insurance works; you have to pay the deductible no matter who is at fault.

Give her address to your insurance company. They will go after her insurance company to repay them what they pay you.

She may be cited for hit and run, or leaving the scene of an accident. That's not your problem anymore, since you're getting your car fixed.

You always have to pay the deductible. The rest of the damages should be covered. I don't know if she did it on purpose, or if she's just senile and shouldn't be driving at all. Try to forgive her.

You pay the deductible. Your insurance company tries to collect from her or her insurance. If they do, your deductible is then refunded to you.

You cannot file directly against her policy and file on your own policy at the same time. When you file on your policy, you give the right of subrogation to your insurance company, and the other driver cannot be sued by you and your company for the same damages.

Honey, no matter what the situation, insurance companies will make you pay the deductible first. That's just the way it is.

I would think her insurance company (if she is insured) will pick up the deductible plus the cost of having your car fixed. I don't understand why the police would give you her information and not take action. This doesn't sound right. It appears to be a hit and run. You should not have to approach the women. who knows, she could then say you were harassing her or worse. I would go back to the police station and inquire about exactly what the appropriate course of action is. If you are not satisfied, I would then go to the next level. I am not sure what that level is. maybe the prosecutors office. Hopefully someone here can help.

You pay the deductible, then file against her in small claims court, have your police report and pictures, Judge Judy says.
