Older car..high insurance..why?

I had a 97 Mystique and it broke down then I bought a 99 ford Taurus and it went down by like 4 dollars or something now I am looking at a 2004 Caddy CTS and I am wondering how insurance generally works? like does it go by how much safety features etc. Its not the sporty CTS-V model just a little V-6

Insurance rates take many factors into consideration. The cost of replacing the car, the rates of accidents associated with the car, the car's safety features, the car's performance, the neighborhood you live in, your age. There are probably a few more factors im not thinking of. Your best bet is to just ask your insurance agent/company what you will be paying if you got the cts. BTW Cadillac CTS is a very good car, and in today's market you can get a used one very reasonably. |

Sports car are always more. Also, foreign cars are more as well as parts typically cost more to replace. Most insurance companies dont recognize LoJac anymore either. |
