Once you have insurance can you drive any car that you own?

Ok lets say you owned like a 90 honda accord or something, and you had cheap insurance for it. since its also an economic car, you use it most of the time you drive. but if you owned two other cars, such as a big v8 4x4 or a sports car v6 would you need to have separate insurance for those? or are you able to drive anything you own since you have insurance? does it matter as long as you dont get into any accidents?

The insurance you get is for that car only. You have to get insurance for each vehicle. Also, If your friend lets you drive their car ask for proof of insurance before you drive it. You will get the ticket if you drive their car without insurance. |

your insuring the car not the driver, so yes you would need separate insurance coverage for each vehicle. |

Each vehicle is insured individually. For example, I have a car, and SUV and a motorcycle. 3 separate insurance policies. |

Yes, you need to insure each car you have on the road.
Auto insurance policies have this little clause in them, they only insure the vehicles that are LISTED on the policy, that you own. So, if you own a vehicle, and it's not listed on the policy, it's not COVERED on the policy - for the exact reason you specify - no one would insure more than one of their cars! |

You have a tiny amount of time to tell the insurance company about any other cars you buy.
The amount of time varies by state and/or company.
If you don't tell them (right away) and you have any kind of crash, you will have to pay for everything yourself. Which could include $100,000 or more of medical bills. |
