Parked my old 79 camaro in front of the house on the street, havent driven it in months do to trans problems and the registration expired, i assumed it would be fine where it sits and would get the registration taken care of when it was fixed, instead i get a parking ticket, the cop came to the door told me to move it or it would be towed, when i came out i had a $40 ticket in my window. anyway around this cause it seems like bull sh**?

Don't know where your from but here if it's not licensed and insured it can't be on the street even if it's just sitting there. We even have a city code that says if they aren't moved every 36 hours they get towed anyway. Don't know anyway around it.
The reason most places do this is they don't want our city streets looking like scrap yards. Think about it. If all of your neighbors parked a vehicle in front of their house that wasn't running what would your neighborhood look like? Not to mention the mice they attract... |

Any vehicle parked on a public street must have current registration and insurance. Pay the ticket, and move the car off the street or get the registration current. No, it's not bull anything, it's the law. If you assumed differently, you obviously assumed wrong and it cost you. |

my tags are bad and i have gotton a gang of those tickets. nothing you can do but avoid parking publicly as much as possible |

okay, I get the; they can write the ticket. My question is an extension of this. If I have 21 days to either get the car registered or pay the fine, can they tow the car in the mean while, if it is moved every day.
Sit-rep: Low-income, paid in 10 days, even if I wanted to get it registered today, rent room in complex, no private property.
So the question is very valid |
