Hi I am looking at this number plate here for sale on ebay, only this is I dont know how this all works so could someone please explain to me what I would need to do to transfer to my car, what does retention cert mean, and what does VRM mean??? Please help, it would be much appreciated.

The VRM is simply the Vehicle Registration Number. The retention certificate means that the number is not assigned to a vehicle yet and is therefore on retention. If you buy it then you will have to pay around Â£110 to the DVLA office when you go to put it on your vehicle. All you need to do is take the certificate and all your own vehicle's paperwork to the DVLA office and tell them what you want to do. You will need top take your tax disc with you too as they will issue you with a new one.I'm selling one at the moment too. If you know anyone called Kenny then you could let them know.
