I live in Virginia and i want to get my learner's permit but i have a problem, i took the driver education program in my school, my dad decided to move to Maryland, i left my school 2 weeks before the program ends. I missed my school i came back, but when i came back the school said i didn't complete the program and i won't be able to get a green card where it says i took the program. Now I'm 17 years old. is it possible to get my learner's permit even i don't have the green card or i have to take the program again? the teacher said she will give me a F in my report card saying that i took the class but i failed and will not receive the green card? help me please

Sorry, but the rules are plain.
When you apply for a learner's permit, you will also complete the application process for your driver's license and pay the fees for both the permit and license. You will be required to pass a vision screening and the two-part knowledge exam.
If you are under age 19, you must provide proof of successful completion of a state-approved driver education program and you must hold a learner's permit at least nine months before you can receive a driver's license.
Since you won't be able to present proof of successful completion of a state approved drier education program, you will have to repeat the course or wait until you are over 19 years old. |

Anyone applying for a permit that is under 18 (19 in VA), must show that they have completed an approved driver's ed or driver's training course (in CA it's both).
If you want to get your permit, you have 2 choices:
Retake the course & get the required certification
OR
Wait until you are over 19 to get your permit & D.E is no longer required. |

from my understanding you dont even have to take the program you just go to the MVD and take the permit test. thats what i did.....but im in AZ. |
