ok heres the story: my stepdad bought a car. Several years later he gave my older sister the car as a gift and gave her the pink slip in her name....now she wants to sign the vehicle over to me but the stepdad took it back and forged her name and made a new pink slip....can he do this? im taking him to small claims court...

The pink slip (or Title as they are called now) is a legal document. Signing someone else's name is illegal.
You sign under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State that issued the title. Yes, you can take him to court, hire a handwriting expert and get your sister to testify against her (step?)dad.
But this sounds like a family matter, and there's always two sides to a story. Try to work this out in the kitchen and not spend money on lawyers prosecuting and defending each other.
So far the only person that has spent any money is your step dad...buying the car. |

I think he may be able to do that. Regardless, this is just wrong. It is your father. How could you take him to court? Civil, Criminal, or what not, court is a dreadful experience. Please re-think what you are doing. |
