hi I plan on financing a used 2003 rsx type-s. I was wondering if I was required to get 2-way insurance on it. because I want 1-way coverage. I heard that certain cars require you to have full coverage on it. but this model can be considered a sports car, yet economy. that's why im confused. thanks!

when u finance a car u must have full coverage. in case u total the car the insurance has to pay the bank for whats left on the loan. and since its a sports car ur insurance is gonna be high well depending on ur age and past |

If you finance a car you must have full coverage insurance on it. You basically sign it at the dealer saying you will purchase, or have purchased full coverage insurance on the vehicle. It's not about the car it is (sports, economy, minivan, etc) its about the way you buy the vehicle. Generally vehicles you lease or finance HAVE to carry full coverage auto insurance, this protects both you and the dealership if you total the car. Don't try getting 1-way insurance either and thinking you can get away with it, the insurance companies know the status of your car (financed, leased, etc) and the dealership can find out the coverage you have on it easily. Remember, you don't actually own the car till you have made all you payments, till then the dealership legally has the title to your car and your insurance will have to be full coverage. |

If there is a loan on the vehicle, then you will be required carry comp and collision to protect the interest of the finance company. Also, why would you buy a newer car with a loan and not want to make sure you are protected in case of a loss?? That is just plain stupid. |

WTF is 2 way insurance?
At your age and for the type of vehicle you are getting there is only one insurance company that I know of that will insure you.

p.s. if you finance any vehicle you will be required to carry FULL COVERAGE insurance. |

For car insurance the obvious way to get a low rate is do a rate comparison on auto policies. Make sure that you compare similar policies with the same deductibles, auto make, location, etc so that all options are an accurate comparison.
What I always recommend is an internet comparison quote at http://www.lowratetoday.com since they have big name insurers and will give multiple quotes on car insurance polices.

The finance company your car is financed through will require you to have full coverage insurance with the finance company's name as loss payee. |
