Ran into the pole. Tire busrt may have been the reason?

My car lost control on a turning. There was a really bad bump on the road right before the turning. It was wet too. Ended up running into a pole. Opened a claim with my insurance. Later on noticed that one of the tires that may not have hit Anything was flat and had a cut on the wall. The tire may have burst before and may be another reason for losing control. If i mention about the tire to the insurance, will they approve it as "not at fault"? Also, any risk in mentioning the tire? will they deny the claim saying i should have known about the tire?

It doesn't matter if the cause of the accident was because the tire blew or if it was some other cause. (If you have collision coverage) They will pay anyway You don't need to tell them your opinion as to how the accident occurred. Simply allow them to look at the damage. They will see the tire is ruined and they will pay to replace it along with the other damages

you will have to prove to them that the tire was the cause, i wouldn't mention it as it will delay the claim and could cause problems as the police etc will have o get involved if they aren't already
