if i reported a car registration number that grazed the side of my car while passing and drove away, how long will it take for my insurance people or the police to find them.
would help if somone has hit and run a parked car and drove off and got caught, how long after the accident did you get contacted.......
this will help me know how long i have to wait for my claim to get my car repaired

The police can find out who the registered owner is instantly from the DVLA. |

if you have collision coverage on your own car you just need to call your insurance and give them the info. They will pay to fix your car and subrogate the money back from the other person's insurance. If they drove away because they don't have any insurance you will be subject to the deductible of your coverage. The claim can take a month or more, but you should be able to get a check sooner than that. Start by filling out a police report and a vehicle operator report and then call you insurance agent and get them copies of the reports. Good luck. |

if they have registration and it is insured 1 minute other way may never be found .

You dont have to wait after you pay your deductible...they will have to catch up with the driver to get your money back...give it a few weeks or so |

This all depends on what insurance you have, if you have comprehensive cover your claim will be dealt with straight away if you have third party cover things could take a little longer if i were you i would report it to the police and your insurers without delay

I would call the local police immediately!
My friend hit some ladys car once and he claimed he didn't know.....I don;t know if he did or not......The woman reported him and the police were at his house the next day. He didn't get in trouble but he had to pay her for the damages to her car. |

you can put a claim towards ur insurance company anytime and get them to pay but it will cause ur insurance to go up.. so now If you know for a fact this person did it then I would call 911 and get the police to make a report right now..
