Riding Bike with NO insurance?
|
Im 17 year old, gonna buy an Aprilia 125cc.. I checked out the insurance companies and they gave me a quote of 1862 pounds!
Im a full-time student and how the hell im gonna earn that much for the insurance? (no 1 in my family drives)
My question: What if I ride my bike around without insurance?
I know how to drive and I got my CBT.. Is there any chances that i can get cought by police? (even if i drive like a professional).. as far as i know, police dont check on bikes that much..
______________________________________...
If driving without insurance is not recomended, how can i bring my quote cheaper?
Can i lie to the insurance company about where im gonna keep my bike?
I dont have a garage, but say if i tell them that im gonna keep my bike in my mate's garage or sumthing..
I just need insurance to show the police that im legit/legal.. not for any kind of accident or sumthing like that..

If you ride without insurance and you either get randomly stopped or are involved in an accident you will be in instant trouble,,you will either have to pay for any damage out of your pocket or end up in court,,,,,with a fine, and it wont be cheap...remember that insurance is for yours and others financial protection, you never know you may knock over a child.....Then how are you giong to explain that to the parents? |

The police don't even have to stop and ask you to produce your documents, now they can check to see if the vehicle is fully legal just from your number plate, and in some towns there is plate recognition cameras that can automaticly flag up illegal drivers, it not worth the risk, and besides, its the people who don't pay that push up the cost of insurance for the legit people. |

If you can't afford the costs of vehicle ownership, DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE.
Don't go ahead and buy, and break the law. Don't defraud the insurance by giving bogus information which will make insurance void when they find out, just DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE.
If you can not afford insurance, how will you afford the fines you will have to pay for the tickets you will get, or afford the repairs to the property you have damaged without coverage? |

I understand the temptation.
That's why so many people chance it!
The fines and punishments are pathetic.
However, never ride without insurance.
Get the bare minimum if thats all you can afford.
But dont chance it.
There are ways to reduce the premium in the UK.
Best ones are:
Brick garage
Cat 1 alarm
Ground anchor
Having a good postcode!
Some people lie or exaggerate to get thier premiums down.
They feel good then!
But very risky.
Insurance companies dont like paying out.
Not at all........
They will investigate all avenues if it means they can avoid paying you!
And they are clever.
So simply put, if you wanna sleep at night,
and ride with a clear concience,
then there's only one way........
Your call........ |

why buy a motorbike? get a lower cc scooter!
advice don't try to scam the insurance or the police you will get caught! the system is all computerised and is all linked with the credit references agencies.
you think your premium is high now wait till you have been prosecuted for no insurance ( 9 points) driving otherwise in accordance with a driving licence etc etc. your quotes will treble at least.
oh also a little offence of lying to the insurance about anything on your proposal is a criminal offence " obtaining a pecuniary advantage" which is covered under the theft act and means that you told porkies to get a cheaper deal.!!
Lastly who do you think covers the cost of uninsured drivers anyway! all the law abiding motorists pay about 10% load on their premiums to cover these people.
Insurance is in place to cover you and others, think of the consequenses if you killed someone!!!
I would rather walk! |

haha.. everyone thinks they are a good driver.
What if someone runs a red light and hits you.. then gets an attorney and says you ran the red light!
What if in this accident you (god forbid ) flew off your bike and were paralyzed? Do you want your family to struggle with your medical expenses?
Now.. thats other driver starts to sue you.. for hundreds of thousands of dollars... who is going to help you in court?
You are walking a very dangerous line my friend... i could not imagine someone being so selfish that they HAD to have a bike.. but didnt care enough about others to get insurance for it. I guess when your young you "think you know everything"- sadly- it will probably take a situation like the one above for you to learn. |

Your a blert, bet your a hoody aswell. Listen you spotty youth, if someone steps out in front of you and your not ins you could end up paying for the rest of your life let. if you lie they can void your ins in the event of an accident. i could go on and on but the end line is YOU MUST GET INSURED. its not worth it. |

How about going for a lower cc engine, maybe that's why it's costing you £1862 for a 125cc and you are 17. |

Thats well over the top mate shop around.
don't go without insurance.
the filth have cameras in the car now that read ya number plate and it tells them if your taxed mot'd and insured.
not worth risking.
start at the bottom(50cc) get insured then you'll have a years no claims hopefully it comes down dramatically.
good luck |

tell them it's LIABILITY ONLY, that'll significantly reduce your payments...like by 90%...(I live in the states though, it may be different where you are) You don't want full coverage - and I'm sure that's what you've been quoted.
The downside is: if your bike is stolen...you lose all your money...no filing if you don't have comprehensie insurance..you just lose your transportation.
Riding a bike without insurance is dangerous and illegal...and not advisable at all |

If you can't afford the insurance, don't buy the bike.
Riding without is not the way to go and is illegal.
Perhaps get a less powerful bike or pay monthly installments for your insurance.
BTW Police love pulling young riders. Don't risk it! |

using any vehicle without insurance is an utterly STUPID idea, all that does is puts the cost of insurance up for the rest of us legitimate motorists, one suggestion for lower premiums - don't ride what you can't afford to run - as for saying you can ride a motorcycle just because you've passed a CBT - you've got a lot to learn (take note because I passed my CBT 10 years ago - and yes I still ride a motorcycle as I passed the test, i've also held a full car licence for 6 years). |
