I live in Illinois , I need SR-22 Insurance to get my license back.
I do not own a car , so how would that work ?
What "type" of SR-22 would I get without owning a car.
Will it be cheaper because I do need insurance for a car ?
I live in Chicago Illinois any good places for SR-22 ?
I'am told I need SR-22 to get my license back from a accident I had back in 2000 when I had no insurance.
I need a license because I will most likely need it for my next job.
Additional Details
Also I read that SR-22 is "the state's way of making you show that you have financial responsibility".
Wouldn't my utility bills and rent show I have "financial responsibility" ?

An SR-22 is the state's way of showing that you are maintaining at least minimum liability coverage. They want you to show that you are financially responsible since you weren't in 2000 when you got into an accident with no insurance. In Illinois, you must maintain a SR-22 for 36 months. If it is canceled or expires before then, the state will suspend your license until a new SR-22 is filed.
Since you have no car, you can get an "Operator's Certificate". It would be cheaper since you're not insuring a vehicle.
Most major insurance companies will issue SR-22 policies. They will be more expensive though since SR-22s are considered "high-risk". |

Financial responsibility means you have car insurance.
You can get a " non-owned vehicle policy" with an SR-22.
There is a high risk insurance program. A link is below. Call them to find an agent in your area. |

i agree with big d sr 22 are maintained for a certain amount of time call an insurance tell them you need a bond with sr 22 to get Your license back they will know what you are talking about |
