My insurance limit for liability/property damage is $10000, I hit a 08' Chevy Impala a month ago and I reported the claim right after, but there's still no response from the guy I hit, I called my adjuster and she told me the guy has not yet contacted my insurance company, so the longer I wait, the likelihood that the damage will exceed $10000 is greater or lesser?

Do you have anything to be taken? Like, how old are you? Do you own anything? When I was younger I carried 10/20/10 liability because I didn't have anything to protect. Now, I'm older and own things so I've increased to 100/300/100. If your insurance won't cover them they can look into their policy and see if they carry UNINSURED / UNDER INSURED MOTORIST coverage and in this case their UM would pick up the left over. Perhaps the person you hit has decided not to file a claim at all. Regardless, will your worrying speed anything up? Then why worry? |
