Ummmm, if you have a car and/or you drive one regularly, it is required by law to have insurance.
Of course you can take a chance and not buy it. If you get pulled over for anything as little as a burned out headlight, you will have to go to court and show proof of insurance. If the insurance shows that you did not have coverage at the time of the ticket you will have to pay a fine $800 + and then you will be required to carried special insurance(whether or not you have a car) or they will take your license away.
I found all this out the hard way!
PS If you get into an accident and do not have insurance, but the accident is the other driver's fault.... it won't matter, you will be ticketed for no insurance and be responsible for all repairs of your vehicle and the other driver!

Yes, I would highly recommend it. You may be the best driver in the world (like me - lol) and get rear ended by someone.
Unfortunately, not everyone is a fabulous driver so your risks for getting in an accident are not just from your driving. If you live in the USA, then it is the law. Someone correct me if I am wrong about that. I know it is in Michigan and the penalties are very high for driving without proof of insurance. |

Pretty much every state requires a person to have at least liability insurance. So yes, i would say you should get insurance. Not to mention that if you are involved in an accident, you don't want to have to come up with the money to repair someone else's car. That is what the insurance is for. |

You didn't say what state you are in. In NY State it's against the law to be in a moving vehicle as the driver without insurance. |
