Should I buy this vehicle even though it has had an accident? Will I have problems with insurance?

salvage title happens after the insurance company totals it and sets it up to go to scrap yard. bent frame does not automatically get scrap title but is a MAJOR RED FLAG. if you are looking at this car you probable are not loaded with cash. you could be (and probable are) buying some one else's head ache. also car was leased/fleet vechile, could mean many different drivers with different levels of skill. If you buy, I'll say goodluck but this maybe a good one to walk away from.

It looks to me that this car is coming with a salvage title. It will be hard for you to sell and it comes with no guarantee...check with your insurance agent and talk with him about this. It is very easy to cover up problems and unless you are schooled in inspecting autos you could get in trouble.
It should only sell for a very cheap price. I think you would be better off buying a decent used car that has assurance of value to it.

Call the insurance before buying, they will tell you how much the insurance on that car will be.

REMEMBER THAT WHEN A VEHICLE HAS FRAME DAMAGE AND IT WAS REPAIRED THE VEHICLE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.

ALSO ON A SALVAGE TITLE MANY INSURANCE COMPANIES WILL NOT INSURE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE LIABILITY THAT THEY WILL HAVE TO TAKE ON WITH THIS VEHICLE.

LASTLY ON ANY SALVAGE TITLE YOU WILL LOOSE WHEN YOU SELL IT AND ALSO WHEN YOU GET INTO AN ACCIDENT IF YOU DO GET INSURANCE, MEANING IF A CAR IS WORTH $12,000.00 BUT IT HAS A SALVAGE TITLE AND IT IS TOTALED, YOU MIGHT GET 50% OF THE VALUE.

I bought a car once that was in a very serious accident and was "salvaged", meaning it was set to be scrapped. An awesome repair shop fixed her up and she was perfect for me. Drove that car for 8 years...sold it to get an SUV when the kids started to arrive. I never had a problem with insurance just because it was in an accident, and mine was worse since the title said "salvage". I did not see salvage listed anywhere in your autocheck, simply that it's had some work done. The wise thing to do would be to take the car to a mechanic and pay them to look it over before buying.

I can understand why you would be interested in a 2003 Boxster at a good price. For example, I would be too.

If it has had frame damage, then Porsche USA should be aware of it and there should be a record of the repair carried out by authorized Porsche repairers. If not, then walk away.

If there is a proper record of repair, then I can advise you to go ahead with a clear conscience, as long as the price is right. By that I mean (say) 30% below the usual price for such a vehicle.

Hey dude, it's been disqualified by autocheck and you still want it?!! What is wrong with you? Oh! It's a porsche, well yeEah but it's been wrecked, hello it's...been...wrecked, a sports car, a porsche, hey! cost you know, parts?, I M P O R T E D, EXPENSIVE!!! And it will never drive the same, you could have one hell of an accident later on down the road, when that little part you didn't know about breaks while traveling at a high rate of speed. Opps! Now you're dead! Insurance costs will be thru the roof for that kinda car, are you a rich man? Think about it some more bud, get some mechanic you know or can trust to look it over, but even then I don't think it's worth it.
