I have been with an instructor that 2 of my friends passed with but I have now had 6 lessons and I don't really feel like I am making much progress.. I have only done 2 roundabouts, I have not been allowed to drive home (even though when I have been out with my parents they think im ready to drive home) and we have only been doing minor junctions really. Also when I get home after the end of each lesson I feel a bit jittery as sometimes he will slightly raise his voice and even grab the wheel. I mean fair enough he doesn't want me to prang his car but my parents have never grabbed the wheel! So another friend really recommends her instructor but she failed her test, but she claims this was because of bad luck. I don't know whether to stick with my guy or change??

just stick with your instructor it really does not matter if u are improving u got most of your life to do that the main thing is that u have to pass and to pass u have to do a certain amount of hours with a certified driver so since u have done 6 lessons switching instructors would be a waist of your time even if he is not teaching u very well.... |

if you think a new instructor would make you feel better about Driving then change if i was your instructor and i felt that i needed to grab wheel i sure would for safety sake |

If he/she is a licensed instructor, the he knows when you are ready for roundabouts, etc. I think you should stick with the same instructor. You might turn out to be his best driving student, but that doesn't mean that you'll pass the driving test. A large portion of first drivers fail their 1st and 2nd driving test. Stick with it and stay calm. Good driving is just a question of patience, alertness, and practice. Good Luck. |

If he had to grab the wheel, you either need a LOT of practice, or the guy is a complete psycho. I never learned crap in drivers-ed, we were just joyriding. Drivers test was the easiest thing in the world. |

Change your instructor. Whomever is teaching you should not make you nervous. I doubt you'll learn at a good pace if the instructor is being way to anal about your driving. |
