well anyways he keeps bugging for keyes on my 02 cavailer and 00 gmc sierra. well im 19 and he gives me crap i hide things. i mean its my property how can i tell him that?

Have you asked him WHY he wants/needs keys to your vehicles? Once you have that information, then make a decision. Contrary to the consensus here, just because you live in his house doesn't automatically entitle him to access to your separate personal property. He may have an issue if your undriven vehicle is blocking the drive, garage, etc. and needs to be moved while you are gone. |

If you're living under his roof, you have to live by his rules. You are over 18, why don't you move out and see what it's like to be on your own. |

As the previous answers correctly said, give your dad an extra key. If you're in doubt as to whether he's driving your car, note the odometer reading.

I am thinking your question is being asked for the simple reason your dad is looking to ensure you don't have or develop an issue or behavior problem. He needs something to hold on to if he sees your out of line. If you still live at home I would say yes, give him a extra set of keys as long as he is responsibly etc. |
