Should i put this reg plate on my car?

I live in northenden in Manchester and the secure car park outside my flat is now full and i have to park on the residental streets down 15 seconds walk away. It is a street full of residential cars but i as i bought a new car last week im terrified of it getting done over. i was dragged out of a car 2 months ago and the scallies drove off in it, and i suppose im a bit wary of that. But Manchester is bad for car crime anyway and it makes my stomach turn that at any time someone could literally cost me hundreds of pounds by breaking into my new car or damaging it in general.
To make matters worse my gran has bought me a new number plate S33 WFC (im a sheffield wednesday fan!) and im scared that will just add to the "come and put a brick through my windscreen" factor of the car.

Am i being paranoid or do other people worry about the safety of their car if they dont have their own drive?

If I saw this plate I would not associate it with a football club. They probably wont realise it is to do with a club either.

im not sure you should to be honest, but people might not understand what it means. Maybe you should put a manu sticker or something small on one of the windows - i support leeds and would never do anything like this, but its your choice?

Personally I would paranoid as there are people who can work out these things on private reg plates.

I'm not a football fan, but there some people out there who take it way too far.
