No way! 15 is too young! Your still a child. I think that from 16-18 you should not be allowd to have friends in the car or talk on cell phones. Your just not mature enough and are still learning. You need to be alert and on your best behavior while driving and sadly to say alot of adults don't do that and Children shouldn't be expected to either.
Parents are responsible for their kids until they are 18 so if driving a 15 yr old to a job is an issue, then they should have thought about that 15 years ago. On the flip side that 15 year old should also consider getting to work w/o a license before they get a job.

No, I don't think so. A lot of teens today aren't very responsible, and if they're not old enough to inderstand the dangers, they may not pay attention, or they might chat with their friends on their cell phones, which, by the way, has been proven more harmful than drunk driving. |

I live in a state where 15 year olds can have a license. I really think it is a bad idea. I think the age for drivers licenses should be 17. I don't believe a 15 yo has the maturity necessary to be a safe and proficient driver. Not only that, parents should have to drive their kids to work, or do like I did at that age and ride a bicycle. 15 year olds shouldn't be driving around independently. Don't get me wrong it could be OK for some kids...but it wouldn't be for most. |

Everyone should have to take a much more stringent written and driving (which they don't give here in Tx anymore) test ever so often regardless of age!!! |

i think 18 is a good age because 15 is way too young and with all the reckless driving and accidents (even death ) on our roads the age 18 would seem logical to me as hopefully they are mature and safety consious.ha! |

I think 15 years of age is way too young to be driving. I think it should be mandatory in all states, for all high school students to take "Driver's Ed" before they apply for their driver's license. |

nope even some kids at 18 shoouldn't have licenses and when ppl get old they should be retested every 5 years. |

I personally even feel 16 is too young. 18 is a better age, although a person's frontal lobes (the control system for actions) doesn't really function to the best of its ability until a person is about 23 years old. Some young people are mature enough and responsible enough to handle such a task, but most are too naive and too inexperienced to ensure a safer road. |

I think 18 should be the minimum. I have 2 teen-agers and don't believe that either of them or any of their friends were ready to drive at 16, and I live in a smaller town without that much traffic. In larger cities perhaps 21 would be better. I started working at the age of 15, too. I either got a ride or walked. Keeping your children safe is more important that letting them drive too early. |

I agree with NYC... but I expand it to include EVERYONE. I think everyone should be retested every 5 years inorder to renew their license |
