So nervous about driving test please help?

i got my instructor to give me a mock test too, also we went on one of the test routes used, it was very helpfull and i passed 1st time, good luck and dont let nerves get hold.

Get plenty of practice in. Drive around your test area and get to know it. Make sure you've planned the day of your test and have everything you need so you won't be worrying about that.
Ask your instructor to give you a mock test.

Know that the examiner will know you are nervous anyway, he/she will recognise this.

Your brain will work better with adrenaline release, this is what your body does, it is a natural survival method. When you come up against the 'tiger in the forest' your 'fleet or fight' reaction will come into play.

So just realise that these nerves are natural and normal, and good luck.

The examiner is not looking for a perfect drive he is looking for a safe one. Do not be scared of asking to repeat a diirection if you do not think you have heard it. On reversing around a corner do not be afraid of going forward to straighten yourself up. The examiner will make notes mmabe to remind himself how well you did in something a couple of minutes before. Do not believe the "friend" who say, " Oooo I hope you don't get X he's a right miserable B-----D. "

Just keep cool and do not become flustered. Drive within yourself and remember the knowledge you have acquired over many months of hard work.

Know that many people fail the first time, so if you do, don't feel like you are the first person in the world to do this and you re stupid and a freak. You are not. I failed the first time and so did many of my friends. It is OK. If you have to parallel park, remember to turn on your turn signal. That can deduct huge points!

Just imagine that you are on a normal lesson with your instructor, listen to the examiner's instructions, if you make a mistake put it to the back of your mind as you are allowed to make some. If your examiner didn't think you was ready they wouldn't be putting you forward for your test, so relax.

Get a good night's sleep beforehand and good luck.

what I did is I pretended I picked someone up and they were giving me directions on where to take them...I wasn't stressed at all!

I had my test a few months ago i was so nervous just remember what you have been doing in your lessons go over the maneuvers in your head on the day you just need to drive as you normally do dont try and do anything extra to impress the examiner i'm sure you will do fine good luck

If you are taking the written test, then I would suggest studying up on the various signs and laws concerning how far to stop from a RR crossing etc. The test are usually pretty easy, but there will be a few questions in there that will try to fool you. Just keep studying, have a family member quiz you on the informaiton in your handbook. When you go to take the test relax as best you can. When you start the test, take your time and read every question and make sure that you know exactly what the question is asking before you answer.

If you are going for the driving test, I suggest, practice, practice, practice and more practice. especially parallel parking.

try not to think about it too much and when the time comes just think of it as a normal lesson it helps believe me. also if anyone in the family can drive and is willing to give you a few extra lessons or pointers before hand it always helps so practice you reversing around a corner etc. good luck

I was nervous doing my test 15 years ago. But I'm more nervous about the youngsters on the road who think they now own it just cos they got their license. The are nutters on the road today, so don't worry about your driving, just be careful of the other drivers, who i wonder ever passed their tests in the first place.

driving is easy but is made difficult by inconsiderate drivers. don't worry just concentrate on what you have learnt and it will be OK. good luck.
