So what do u do when u accidently scratch someone else's car in a carpark?

well, as many people have tried this with me SITTING IN THE CAR!!, i get out and ask them why they weren't going to leave a note! they look at me shocked, like they didn't check the car first before hitting it!! Normally, I don't care, cause it is just a scratch, and hell, my car is 12yrs old. but it does pi ss me off that they don't care. Just say hey, sorry i hit your car by accident with my door. I have also noticed people with kids hit more cars, cause their kids just swing the door wide open, like they need 2 ft. to get out of. I make sure my 'child safety locks are on' and i have to open the door myself. saves OTHERS cars from getting dinged by my kid. (parenting works if you know how to use it!!!)

I also witnessed a walmart employee that was getting carts, hit a truck, so i left a detailed note on this guys windshield, telling hiim the time and the employee description. gave him our # as well. dont' know if he reported it , as even though it has not responsible for carts, stated on their cart rangling thing, it was a EMPLOYEE that did it, not a shopper.

So, i would leave a appology note, if it was small and bearly unnoticible, but it it actually took some paint off, then leave a phone number as well, but really those stores have cams, so it that person really wanted to know who i was, they could go thru the store video system.

If the owner doesn't show up in a reasonable time, you leave a note with your name and phone number. When they call, you apologize and give them your insurance information.

id own up to it suppose it was your car would you want them to do you that way,leave them a note as to how they can get in touch with you ,and let them have it estimated as to how much it will cost to repair it,if it was your car you,d be mad right,.so imagine how they are going to feel,good luck.

First off you leave a note with your address and phone number. Second of all how do you know there wasn't a camera recording you and your plate number???????????

I think the proper thing to do would be to leave a note with your name and telephone number stating you are sorry it happened.

If they call back provide them with the name of your insurance company. If they do call - I would then call my insurance company and explain the situation.

I don't think a lot of people would do this, but I think this would be the right thing to do.

just leave it the guy that almost totaled my car when it was parked didnt leave anything paid $2500 to get it repaired had liability so insurance didnt cover it

i never did,,,i am very careful. some people will shoot you over a scratch. just get out of there.

You leave your name and phone number on the windshield. First of all, you really NEVER know when someone is watching (people LOVE to report guys who do that) and second of all, it's the right thing to do.
