Some one hit my Husbands car while it was parked, What do I do?

I dont have a licence, I am not covered under his insurance. This past week, my mother was in town and they day she had to leave, she used his car to go to the store for snacks, I went with her because I live on a military base so I had to get her back on base.
While we were in the store someone hit his car, Looks like they hit it while backing out. There was no one there or no note. We had to leave cuz she had to pack.
Im not sure what to do? Do I file a Police report? Im going to call in Ins Co today.
He has full coverage because he is still paying for the car.
He is in Afghanistan right now and I need to know what to do.

You need to call your insurance company. You will have to pay them, your collision deductible. They will then pay to fix your car. You should have called the police at the scene. |

Call the insurance and report a hit and run. It will be covered under collision coverage, less any deductible. Don't offer any information other than what they ask for. If they ask, your licensed mother borrowed it with your permission, and it was hit when parked. Don't volunteer (like you did in your question) that you are not covered or licensed. |

You can file the police report if you want to, but you're going to have to file that claim with his insurance. The collision deductible will apply. |
