If you are in a no fault State (USA) then YOUR insurance company will have to pay for the damages to YOUR car and his insurance company will pay for the damages to his car.
Check your policy to see if your rates may go up. |

Call your agent, if a claim is filed and your car is involved, you'll get a rate increase. Insurance companies will raise the rate for just about ANY reason! |

Since your insurance will not be paying out for an accident that is not your fault, it should not affect your rates. As long as your vehicle is fixed, you don't care if they get it from their insurance company or their wallet. |

No, if it is not your fault and their insurance company will settle down the damages. You can try to consult it with your insurance agent or insurance company. You can try to visit this cheap car insurance site http://www.nightbirdssolutions.com for that matter. |

You ask, I answer

their fault, their insurance. |

Someone backed in to me the other day too and I wondered the same thing. There is absolutely no reason to contact your insurance company. Thus, your rates will not be affected.
This is of course if the other driver is insured. |

No it won't affect your insurance policy. If it's their fault, then their insurance policy will be affected, not yours. |

we had the same thing happen about a year ago.
We got our own quote, and mailed it in, and had a check in just a few days. |

i backed into one of my own trucks that my son parked behind me. My insurance says I have to pay both deductibles. Is that right? It does not sound right, but he said I can't be liable against myself. |
