Any notice you put on your car will be seen as a challenge, this being the case scratches will be the least of your worries.
Scratches on cars are a fact of life caused by thoughtless people who have no respect for property, Unless of course it happens to THEIR car, then they go ballistic.
Best thing I've found is to own a second hand newish vehicle with a few knocks and scratches so another few don't matter. Take the view that a new car just out of the showroom is a red flag to jealous vandals................Happy motoring.

Perfect sign. Not only that, do actually watch and record, don't go out and get stabbed though. Just video it, go police station next day. Criminal caught. wallah, Justice!

JUST BE CAREFUL ON WHAT YOU POST ON YOUR VEHICLE BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE SUE CRAZY AND YOU DON'T WHAT THE SIGN TO SAY ANYTHING ABOUT BEING SHOT.

FOR $9.95 YOU CAN BUY ONE OF THOSE FAKE SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS AND MOUNT IT NEAR THE VEHICLE.

IT HAS A FLASHING LED LIGHT AND IS TRIGGERED BY MOTION.

I PUT ONE UNDER THE OVERHANG OF MY HOUSE BECAUSE THE KIDS WERE ALWAYS HANGING AROUND AND I CAN SAY THAT THIS CURED THE PROBLEM.

MOST PEOPLE WONT KNOW IF IT IS REAL OR NOT PLUS WHEN IT MOVES IT MAKES THEM THINK.

Or stand near your window with a supersoaker if you think you know roughly when it's happening and get the little beggars with a mixture of water, lemon juice and cayenne red pepper... That'll make them think twice if you get a direct hit anywhere vulnerable.

I think it might be worth telling the police anyway, a note may just make the vandals worse if it's deliberate...
Try calling them on 101 - it's a relatively new service set up to deal with things like vandalism and information regarding crimes that isn't serious or immediate enough to warrant dialling 999.

And Turtle wax is pretty good at disguising the smaller scratches...

It's a waste of time doing that-the culprit will know they have aggrivated you and will do it all the more.I suggest you set up CCTV and try to catch them in the act then take the footage to the police.Or if it turns out to be somebody you know post a copy of the footage to them letting them know you have evidence!
