Someone hit my car on campus. i did not get all of their info, anything else i can do?

I got name, ins company and policy number, phone #, email and when I forwarded this info to my ins company, her policy was not valid. I filed a report with campus police. My car is not badly damaged, but still... anything else I can do?

Nope, you've covered everything that you have. Maybe drive around the parking lot and see if you see the car and get its license plate number if you forgot or didn't get it.
One suggestion, as soon as you can, photocopy your license, and insurance card and keep a couple of copies with you. That way if you get in an accident, you will have one thing less to think about and can concentrate on getting the info that you need from the other driver.
Slow down, take a deep breath and get their info first then after you get everything that you need give them your info. |

I would also file a report with the actual city/ local police regarding the matter, if they handle things on campus at all. Keep in contact with your insurance compan, and ask them what your next step should be-- such as emailing the girl questioning her about the invalid policy number (perhaps it was written down wrong.... suggest that instead of being accusatory !) I would certainly try to obtain the license plate number, as you don't know if she gave you accurate information... try callingthat number too.... you never know... |

she may not have even given you correct information. did you see her driver's license? you have done everything you can possibly do. i'm assuming there are no cameras on campus? check with your company to see what kind of coverage you have to get your car repaired. other than that, you are out of luck. |
