Speeding Ticket -- Driving Points?

Hello,

I have a CA License. I got a speeding ticket on a South Carolina Highway while on a outing. The Ticket was for driving at 74 mph on a 60 mh zone and fine of $80. I want some information as to :

1. How many points will be on my DL ?
2. Does it effect my insurance ?
3. Also I am moving out of CA to NC. I will get an NC license soon.So what happens to this citation?

Pleae let me know any other information which i need to know abt speeding tickets.

A) I'm not in CA so you can go to your state's DMV website though and find that out.
B) Yes, the violation will effect your insurance. Depending on when your policy renews is when you'll see it. Example: If your policy renews on say June 1st, chances are it will not effect that term due to timing. Then when you renew again on Dec. 1st (assuming you have a six month policy) you would see the increased rate due to the ticket. You would also lose any sort of a "good driving record" discount if you are with an insurance carrier who offers that to you.
C) You will start fresh in North Carolina (not insurance wise. Insurance wise that's going to follow you for a good 3-5 years depending on the carrier). However, usually when getting a license in a new State, they are only concerned if your old State license was suspended or revoked, not so much if you have a speeding ticket or a stop sign violation, etc..........
