Speeding cars and slow drivers. Read on.........?

Driving the posted limit is fine, as long as you stay in the slow lane. If drivers are flashing their lights at you then you should get out of the fast lane before someone runs you over.

hmmm, I'm not sure I completely buy your story about the officer. I drive the posted speed limit all the time and have never once been pulled over. I could understand you being pulled over if you where in one of the left lanes and going 55 or 65. or on a side street in the left lane doing 35 or 40. that would be the only justification for an officer to pull you over. They would never pull you over if you where doing the speed limit in the right hand lane. they would pull you over of obstructing traffic and failure to yield. Personally going the speed limit will save you on gas as well as reduce your odds of being involved in an auto accident. Tell your friends your saving money by not wasting fuel, not getting tickets and not having accidents. This keeps your insurance down and reduces the wear and tare on your car. It will lase longer. As far as the cop, he pulled you over for something other then just driving slow. I would by the part about being suspicious.

You're making up that story. It would be ridiculous (and unconstitutional) for a police officer to pull you over because you "look out of place". If he searched your car, you need to file a lawsuit against the department. But I don't believe a word you're saying.

lol, in the defensive driving school class, they teach us to" go with the flow"...if everyone else is driving faster than you on a busy interstate or freeway...you need to speed up also...or you could die from someone smashing into the back of you..I am serious..

You didn't deserve to be treated like that. Just because you're young doesn't mean you have to be a speed demon. I'm a speed demon but have no disrespect for people who drive the speed limit. I don't flip them off or flash lights at them. I kindly pass them and go on about my business.

I'd find out who the cops commander is and report him. NO they can't pull you over for NOTHING. OVER the speed limit but not UNDER. Unless you are like WAY under and impeding traffic, then they might suspect you're impaired. But right at the speed limit? no way.

are you sure you don't have a bumper sticker that says "Bad Cop No Donut" or something

I believe that some places the speed limit should be more. but most places it's there to save people.
Really it's pretty cool that you stay at the speed limit.
I usually get mad when ppl are going under the speed limit but when someone is going just the speed limit i dont just because not everyone likes to speed..
good job and that's stupid about the cop.
i wouldn't let him search my car even if i didnt have anything i wasn't supposed to.

The speed limits are the speed limits - the maximum speed you can safely drive on any given stretch of road, provided that conditions are ideal - no rain, no fog, light traffic, etc. Most people totally ignore that, or they even assume that the number is a speed minimum, which isn't true.

Some states do have minimums, but they are clearly marked as minimums, not limits.

Keep driving cautiously and defensively. There's no reason to speed. Let other drivers pass you by if they want - but they are more likely to get into an accident than you are, especially because they are more likely to drive in a speed "pack", which is a prime situation for multiple car pileups and loss of control in general..

In the end, all that matters is your safety.

And, if a policeman really wants to, he can single out an individual and give the person a ticket for speeding, even if everyone else is speeding as well.
