Speeding fine on provisional licence moped 50cc ???

Hi, i need some info on speeding fines and what happens if you get caught speeding ona 50cc moped on just a provisional licence at 16 years old...also would like to know how this will affect you when it comes to driving on a full car licence at 17 (insurances, etc)

i never usually speed at all, i see no need to, i think i was doing about 36 in a 30, well thats when i looked down when i saw the policeman with his gun at me... then as i passed i saw him looking at my rear numberplate (as i oly have one on the back as do all mopeds)
PLEASE DONT MAKE ME OUT TO BE AN IMMATURE SCUM-BAG AS I AM NOT. Just wanting some info on what will happen if he decides to file the speeding offence.

Well good luck with trying to get a speeding fine on a 50cc moped!! Where were you? On the way to school??
I should think it will put any car insurance way through the roof, like they are anyway!!

Well, it would help if you had given us a clue as to where you are in this big blue world, but generally:

If you are found guilty, it will add points to your driving record, especially at your age. Those points will drive your already high insurance rates even higher. Depending on the state, you may now find you can't get a full license until you reach the age of 18. Check the web page for the agency that issues drivers license where you are, and see it there is any information in the FAQ section about it.

3 points and a fine I should imagine. Your insurance will hit the roof as you have to declare it.
What I cant understand is how you can break the speed limit on a moped - they are hairdryers on wheels.

You can still have points on a provisional licence. If it was just a standard speeding fine you have it will be for 3 points and a Â£60 fine.

The points will stay on for 4 years.

You will need to declare it to insurers and it will increase your premium.

You will still be able to take a car test and have a full licence - the only thing the points will carry over to the full licence and if you incurr any points in the first 2 years after you pass your test you will have your licence revoked and you will have to apply for a provisional licence again and take a theroy and practical test again.

Was it a very steep hill with a wind behind you? You're in trouble for driving a car as the insurance will be extortionate. Perhaps best to keep off the road until you're old enough to drive sensibly.

3 points on the licence (in the UK), Â£60 fine if fixed penalty, heavier if you have to go in front of the beak. If it's an SP30, as it should be on a moped, SP40 or SP50 it ain't a moped and you'll be in deep sh*t with the magistrate. More points on your licence and an insurance hike of at least 30% for your car insurance.

When you come to reinsure your bike, or insure a car, you will need to delcare the 3 points.

However, most UK insurance companies, don't load the policy for just one minor speeding offence.

Ask around when you come to insure your car, you will be surprised by the difference in quotes.
