i am 17 years old and I just got my license.
I try to get some quotes under my moms name
and it came out to be around 3000 to 5000, in other words,
2 to 4 grand every six month just for me.
How much is normal teenager boy insurance rate it NY State?
One of my friends(they are twins) and they pay 20 total under their parents insurance. They own really creppy car costs like 1700 but still I thought guys under 30 pay the most expensive rate in car insurance.
What exactly is the average rate for teenager boy? I DO NOT Want any recommendation to go get a quote in insurace companies or wutever.

There is no exact rate...it depends on a variety of factors. Will you be a primary driver, what is your and your mom's history (tickets, accidents), what kind of car are you driving. While it IS expensive to insure young men, those rates sound extremely high. Unfortunately, the best way to do it is to have your mom call and shop around to find a better rate...sorry but no one here can give you a single answer. |

$3-5k a year for insurance for a 17 year old boy sounds about right. I shopped around for insurance the last time my insurance was up for renewal. I am 30 years old, with a clean driving record, good credit, etc. Plus, I live in a little hick town in Georgia. The highest quote I got was $1200 for a 6 month premium on a 2006 Ford Ranger (I ended up staying with my current company - $1000/year). Face it. A 17 year old is a very high insurance risk. If you want to drive a nice vehicle, you are going to have to pay a lot for your insurance. |
