Texas drivers license?

Ok so ny friends is about to turn 16 in march he completed his drivers ed course and has had his permit for 6 monthes well it will be in april. so I'm wondering when he turns 16 in a week how does he go get his license?

As long as he has completed the full (6) months of supervised driving without any issues then all he has to do is go to the (DMV) Department of Motor Vehicles bring his paperwork,take the vision test, give up his thumb prints and he is off to the races with a full non-restricted license...

Before you head to the Texas DMV Office, make sure you have all of required documents to get your driver's license.

Once your licensing requirements have been met, your Class C driver's license will be valid for 6 years.

Once you get your provisional license in the mail you’ll notice it displays your info vertically. Until you turn 18 your license will be this way. Also notice the expiration on the vertical license is actually your 18th birthday.

To obtain this license you paid a fee. When it comes time to renew, the DPS won’t send a renewal notice; you’ll have to stay on top of this yourself. For each year of the renewal period you’ll pay a renewal fee.

You’ll also have to prove you are enrolled in and attending school.
